The CITB Course Required For CSCS Green Labourer Cards

Why you need to do a Level One Course?
Since 2014 when CSCS replaced the Operatives Green Card, under the guidance of CITB you require two things:
- A Valid CITB Health Safety and Environment Score Report / Certificate
- A Valid Qualification such as the Level 1 Award in Health Safety in a Construction Environment
You can obtain these by buying the Course on its own separately below or a package with both the course and the CITB Test.

If you already have Level 1 Award in Health Safety in a Construction Environment Certificate and Qualification then you do not need to do the course again as this is a lifetime award.

Once you have the two certificates above you can then apply for your Green Labourer CSCS card we recommend only getting your card directly.

Applicants are required to pass the CITB health, safety, and environment test for operatives and possess one of the following qualifications:
- Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (Scotland Level 4)
- Scottish Level 5 REHIS Elementary Health and Safety Certificate
- NOCN/ CSkills Awards Construction Health and Safety (F/618/0738) unit
Application Process:
Applications must be submitted through CSCS Online.
Approved cards are typically dispatched within five working days.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Before starting a Level 1 Health Safety and Environment Final Exam in Construction as part of an application for a CSCS Labourer Green Card please ensure you are aware of the following:
The accepted Identification WHICH MUST BE IN DATE which will need to be presented before the exam starts via web cam is either a:
- Photocard Driving Licence
A valid UK Passport - An international Passport
- Formal ID Cards such as armed forces, police, student union, company ID card (providing they also include at least the Date of Birth or a postcode)
- Local Authority/Taxi ID
- Blue Badge (parking for people with disabilities)
- Firearms Certificate/Shotgun Licence
- UK Citizen Card
- National ID card
++ Our Recommended System Requirements:
- A Laptop or Window PC (We do not recommend a Mac iMac or MacBook) Certainly do not use a tablet or mobile device for Exam. Do not attempt to open the Exam on a chrome book OR Chrome Browser.
- A WEB CAM & MICROPHONE allowing full access during exam
- Operating System: MS Windows 10 or above
- Browser: EDGE Up to date
- Video: Up to date video drivers
- Memory: 8Gb+ RAM
- Download Speed: Broadband (15Mb+) Test yours here: www.speedtest.net
- Upload Speed: 10MBs (To ensure video)
- You will need a steady internet connection we recommend a hard wire instead of Wi-Fi
- Your exam timer will start when you press the “OPEN” button and complete the equipment check.
Please note these are the pre instructions before you start and you must have you photo ID Ready.
If your name is incorrect you can CHANGE IT ONLY ON YOUR FIRST LOGIN, we are unable to do so afterwards under any circumstances.
Examination Rule Requirements
- No talking or reading questions out loud (even to yourself)
- No other web browser tabs or windows should be open
- No Eating or Drinking
- No Smoking or Vaping
- No other devices i.e. mobile phone tablets etc
- No Notes
- No one else in the room
- No Headphones (If your microphone is part of your headset please leave them off and leave them on the desk)
- Keep your face within view of the camera at all times
- A test failure for any breakage of the rules above will incur a full rebooking charge, a failure due to a low score will be charged at 50% of the booking charge.
