Make sure you do the following on the day of the test:
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before your test starts.
- Bring your confirmation booking email or letter.
- Bring your valid UK Passport and or Driving Licence as confirmed at the time of booking, remember no ID no Test no Refund or Reschedule.
- After your test, you must keep your Score Report safe as it has important information on it relating to your card application.

Car
If you’re planning to travel to the Edinburgh CSCS Test Centre by car, the test centre is in Cairncross House and is located at the foot of the hill on Union Street which is only accessible by foot due to roadworks. To reach the test centre, at the roundabout near the John Lewis, turn down Leith Walk and take the first left, opposite the Playhouse Theatre, down Union Street.
Parking
There isn’t any parking at the Edinburgh CSCS Test Centre itself. The nearest car park to the test centre is the Omni Park multi-storey and the cost is £5.80 for 2 hours. This is a 5-minute walk from the centre. There is also a Car Park Management Ltd parking facility on Carlton road costing £5.00 for two hours which is a 15 minute walk away.
Bus
There are several bus lines that stop near Union Street. These are: 5, 7, 9, 14, and 49. The nearest bus stop is on Elder Street, which is a 4-5 minute walk from the test centre.
Edinburgh Bus Station is also just a 7 minute walk away.
Train
The nearest train station to the test centre is Edinburgh Waverley which is 12 minute walk from the test centre (0.5 miles). Buses also run from here.
Other Information
The test centre is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. Full Disabled Access is available at this centre with wheelchair access found via a ramp to the right of the main door. There is also a buzzer to gain access to the building, although this is only accessible at the main entry door.
